A Call From Israel, and "Why We Left Islam"

Breakfast in Israel, and an interview with the editor of the book: Why We Left Islam.

My phone rang twice before I answered it. The "Caller ID" said unknown.

The voice on the other end seemed familiar, but I couldn't place it. It sounded like a voice I had known my entire life, yet was somehow changed, distant, filled with new emotion.

Then it clicked in my brain. The person on the other end of the line was my mother -- calling me from Israel just before her and dad go downstairs for breakfast.

Ten hours ahead, mom and dad were preparing for breakfast as I prepared for bed. Both voices were enthusiastic. Their trip to Israel is more than just a sight-seeing tour. As Christians, it is like going home. Mom described their first days in Jerusalem as emotional, spritual, and giving her a feeling of fullness.

Two weeks is the length of their tour. They are in Israel at the same time as President Bush, and informed me that Condi Rice is staying in the same hotel that they are. Mom recalled and told me about an amazing conversation with Jon Voight in the elevator of their hotel, and the powerful experience of praying at the wailing wall, with her hand pressed against it.

Mom and Dad also told me about meeting Israeli soldiers stationed near the Syrian border. Mom says she got a picture with one of the Israeli Defense Force troops, and will get it to me when she can.

In addition to their time in Israel, they are going to spend some time in the country of Jordan as well.

I have been many places, but Israel is not one I have visited yet. My mom urges me to go. She says, "I am unable to convey how wonderful it has been to walk in the footsteps of Jesus, to see the places He preached. You need to make this trip, Doug. You need to see Old Jerusalem before you see New Jerusalem in the near future. For a Christian, coming to Jerusalem is like coming home."

Joel Richardson is the editor of the book, Why We Left Islam. The controversial new book is the first in America to feature an image of Muhammad on the cover and tell nearly two dozen horror stories of former Muslims. Tonight, Joel Richardson was my guest on Political Pistachio Radio . . . Listen to the archive HERE.

Hate Crime Laws and the Homosexual Agenda

Criticize Homosexuality, Lose Your Job

After writing a column critical of gay rights in a local publication, an administrator for the University of Toledo was fired. The column was in response to another column written a couple weeks earlier that was pro-gay. In response, the President of the University of Toledo wrote his own column to distance the fired administrator's views from those of the University.

Perhaps the parent being banned from dropping off or pick up his children from school; attending his children's sports events or other school activities; meeting with his children's teachers at parent-teacher conferences; attending or participating in school committee meetings; or even voting on election day at his local polling place, a public school because he criticized and requested his child be removed from the teaching of the gay agenda, is something that will catch our attention. How crazy is it that he wanted to protect his child from what he felt was against his belief system, and this happened. Could you imagine the outcry if the circumstances had been reversed? In this case, specifically: A no-trespass order issued against him by the school – which includes all district property – is "simply an intimidation tactic" against anyone who might protest the school's pro-homosexual policies regarding elementary school children.

On KFMB AM Radio a little over a week ago I heard a story about how a mother is under investigation for a hate crime because her child asked her about homosexuality, she stated being gay is a sin, and then when the child repeated it at school the teacher turned in the parent for a hate crime.

How long before, under the guise of Hate Crime Laws, will it be until the government is knocking down your door to take away your Bible because they consider it to be a hate crime document because it proclaims homosexuality is a sin?

How many freedoms must we lose before Americans recognize the insanity?

Orwell's 1984?

Hmmmmm. Thought Crime Legislation is on its way.
