The War on Christmas/Christianity/God

Ahh, how exciting.  Christmas is coming (or is it Xmas?).  Wait, I'm sorry, that wasn't very politically correct, was it?  The Holiday Season is upon us.  Christmas Carols are being sung - oops, Holiday songs of Joy like Frosty the Snowman and Santa Claus is coming to town (Silent Night and Noel and Little Drummer Boy and Hark the Herald Angels are all out).

What in the world is going on?  The phrase "Merry Christmas" is systematically being removed from society.  The attack ranges from advertisements to our children's public schools.  Christmas Carols are banned at all school events.  A religious themed float was denied entry in a local parade.

Ever seen that old abbreviation "Xmas"?  Think about it.  There is a great big "X" in the place of Christ.  Christ is being X'd out, and it is nobody's fault but our own.

Everybody on this planet is so worried about offending everyone.  As a result schools are banning Christmas music from their holiday concert lineup, "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens is no longer allowed to be enacted in public schools, school buses have been asked to turn off the radio so that Christmas music is not played, and Wal-Mart is supposed to feel guilty for returning to their "Merry Christmas" greeting (the sad part about that is the reason they went back to the Merry Christmas greeting was because they feared not doing it would cost them too much money in the long run - not because they intend to defend keeping Christ in Christmas).

A public Christmas festival near Chicago reconsidered using New Line Cinema as a sponsor because they worried that the ads for its film, "The Nativity Story" might offend non-Christians.

A cross was removed from a chapel at William and Mary recently so as to not offend people.  Hannity and Colmes covered this tonight, and even liberal Alan Colmes was shaking his head.  A group has been formed to save the cross at www.savethewrencross.org .  The story is, one person sent a letter that the cross made them feel uncomfortable during an event held at the chapel.  Previous policy was that it was on permanent display.  New policy reads that the cross must be put away, unless asked to be present in a specific event.

My dear friends, this is nothing new, but it is getting worse.  And we are expected to quietly cave in to the pressure of political correctness.  Mind you, most people believe in God.  Most atheists believe that there is no reason to be offended by something they don't believe in.  Most people who practice faiths other than Christianity don't mind the Christian presence in society because to discriminate against Christianity would eventually bring discrimination against their own faith.  That means that the politically correct, anti-Christian crowd is the minority.

Our society is being changed for the worse because of a few loud voices that belong to a minority of people.

An acquaintance of mine recently asked me if I had picked up my friendship tree, yet.

"What in the world is a friendship tree?"

The person I was speaking to has a young child in elementary school, and at school the Christmas Tree has been renamed.  Now it is a friendship tree.  One of my daughter's teachers has a picture of Buddha on the wall in his classroom.  The sign over the desk in the office reads, "Happy Holidays and Happy Hanukkah."

They don't want to offend anybody.  They are so afraid that keeping Christ in Christmas is offensive to too many people.  Other icons, however, are just fine.

But sitting here and complaining about how our Christian values are under attack, we need to be proactive.  Be as loud as the voices from the politically correct minority are.  Do as a group in Denver did when their Christian themed float was banned from an annual parade.  They belted out Christian carols as the "Parade of Lights" passed them by.

Conservative Christians need to be emboldened in the fight to save Christmas, and to disallow the Politically Correct crowd from repressing Christianity.

The war on Christmas is in full swing.

Don't just sit by, watch the fireworks, and wind up a casualty.  Defend Christmas.

Talking Religion and Politics and the rights of six praying imams

Tonight I was a guest on My Point Radio.  Dave and Jenn, the hosts of the show, are Conservative Republicans, and first asked me to be on the show on November 13th.  That particular show went off with a bang, and both my hits on my websites, and Dave's radio ratings went up.  Tonight, they asked me to appear again on the show, and I was more than happy to oblige.  The original motivation for the invite was my blog Political Pistachio, which has been growing in popularity of late.  The first chapter of my latest manuscript, The Way of Deception, was the another bit of motivation.

Most people do not like talking about Religion and Politics, but tonight on My Point Radio, that is exactly what happened.  It all began with a discussion about the six imams that were removed from a flight for praying in Minnesota.

Today, a demonstration was staged at Reagan Washington National Airport, demanding an apology from US Airways for barring the six Muslims from the flight bound for Phoenix in Minneapolis last week.

The tool used for this was a call for an end to racial profiling.

So why is this about Religion and Politics?

And as one famous criminal once said, "Why can't we all just get along?"

My friends, we are in the midst of a war.  The war is larger than anyone realizes.  The battleground extends beyond the battlefield where our troops are dying in the interest of protecting our freedoms.  This is a Holy War, as the Islamic Radicals remind us, and I have to agree.

And the Islamic Radicals are using the ongoing war against Christianity waged by the liberal left to squeeze themselves in and get another shot at another 9/11 scenario.

Racial Profiling?  Hardly.  The actions against the praying imams was a matter of National Security.  The imams are members of an violent terroristic ideology that we are currently at war with, and though they have a right to co-exist with Americans in this great nation, any action (I repeat, ANY ACTION) that may be deemed as a threat will not be tolerated, and if that action is murmering a prayer that sounds an awful lot like the prayers muttered by suicide bombers before they blow themselves up and kill Americans along with them, then it will not be allowed on our planes, or anyplace else it makes American citizens feel ill at ease.

And to bring into this situation Civil Rights questions regarding African Americans is wrong.  This is not about race.  This is about National Security.  This is not about profiling, it is about National Security.  The Religion of Peace, which has turned out to be a religion of violence, is waging a Holy War against the West.  Christianity is not tolerated in their countries.  Christians are hung by the throat for their faith in Muslim countries.  Churches are destroyed in nations dominated by the Muslim faith.  Yet here in the good ol' United States of America, if we feel threatened we are supposed to feel like we are in the wrong.

Hardly.

This is an issue of National Security.

Just because the liberal left is waging war on Christianity using the absurd idea of political correctness, it doesn't mean that we should drop our pants and allow this enemy to sneak in on us and kill more of our people by flying airplanes into buildings, or by any other means.

National Security, my friends.  Protection of our very lives and freedoms is at stake.

We may not like to talk about religion and politics, but for the sake of our security, we better be taking action regarding religion and politics, or else the United States is finished as a nation.

Rangel's Draft

New York Democrat Charles Rangel would like you to know that he is against the war in Iraq, and to prove how dead set he is against it, he would like to bring back the draft.

That's right, Rangel plans to again (just like in early 2003) introduce a measure to have Congress reinstitute the draft.  This, after claiming that the draft was inevitable because of Bush's war-mongering.  His 2003 measure, by the way, was defeated in October of 2004 by a 402-2 vote.  (Can you believe it?  Two actually voted for it!)

The main stream press and the liberal left has so convinced everyone to be so against the war that they have been emboldened to try idiotic tactics (I know, they always try idiotic tactics, but this one is especially idiotic) again.  Their theory is that in order to accomplish the start of pulling out troops from Iraq they must make young Americans (the easiest minds to poison with their socialist views) believe that if the troops don't come home soon, young American civilians may be drafted and shipped overseas to help in the war.  To drive this home, Rangel has said, "As long as Americans are being shipped off to war, everyone should be vulnerable."

Rangel's office stated that all men and women up to 42 years of age would be eligible, barring health problems or reasons of conscience.  Reasons of conscience?  I guess that means that Democrats would be exempt.

Rangel further claimed that Americans from poor (and uneducated if you believe Kerry) backgrounds are the ones fighting, and in an effort to give our military a more realistic economic makeup of our nation, the rich ought to have a chance to fight as well.  That way, casualties would be less disproportionate.

In reality, the military is in truth a lopsided representation of our nation, but in the opposite direction Rangel claims.  nearly 74 percent of the United States Military is white, and better educated than his civilian counterpart.

In truth, our military holds a high standard because it is a voluntary force, based on high standards of admission based on high standards for education, aptitude, health, moral character, and other requirements.  Reinstitution of the draft would compromise these standards, allowing persons that would otherwise be rejected into the military, as well as introducing an element of bringing in those that don't desire to be there.

The draft would be disastrous, but the left knows this, and only want to try to implement it so that they can later turn it around against the Republican Party.  It won't take long with idiotic moves like this before the electorate realizes (once again) the stupidity of the liberal left, and votes in another Republican President in 2008.

Being Thankful

I am blessed. I have a devoted wife that I have been married to for twenty-two years, two children that are healthy and independent. And I live in a nation where we celebrate Thanksgiving, a faith-grounded holiday in which Americans thank God with public expressions.

But what else do I have to be thankful for?

I am thankful to my Lord for I live in a nation where I have many freedoms. I have the freedom to write what I believe on my blogs. I have opportunities that arise, and the option to choose as I please. I am thankful that I have a family that I love, and who loves me. I am thankful for my faith, and that I have the allowance to worship as I choose. I am thankful to the farmers that labor to provide food that I may purchase, and for the meals from this food that I am able to provide for me and my family. I am thankful for the job that I have, and my home, and my automobiles. I am thankful for my life in America.

And there are so many in the world that do not have what we have. In Egypt a fifteen year old girl was kidnapped by Muslims trying to force her to deny Christ and accept Islam. The kidnappers drugged her and threatened to rape her if she refused Islam. She managed to escape while her abductors were taking a break from a Ramadan fast.

In Muslim countries people are jailed for supporting Israel or Christianity, and condemning Muslim violence. Examples include an editor of a magazine in Bangladesh facing a trial for doing just these things in his magazine. He has been imprisoned, harassed, beaten, and condemned. In Egypt bloggers are being detained by the government for criticizing Islam and exposing the apathy of Cairo police to sexual harassment of women. One of those detained was beaten in prison over several weeks. Read that story here.

In Sudan editors were beheaded insulting Islam, questioning Muslim history, and questioning the roots of Mohammed. Story is here.

China is the world's leading jailer of journalists and internet critics. One individual was jailed for five months because he reported corruption among local officials in his province. Read the article here.

I am thankful I live in America, the land of the free, despite the fact that there exists elements in this nation determined to undermine our freedom, leak top-secret information to our enemies, insult our leaders, broadcast enemy propaganda, and turn a blind eye to the victims of the jihad.

Oh, and one more thing, I am thankful to the American soldier for placing his/her life on the line for our freedom, liberty, and safety.

The Party of Reagan

These words have been spoken many times, but lately the Republican Party has decided that we shouldn't.

For years I have listened to the liberal left claim that the conservative movement and the Republican Party are one and the same.

But, they are not.

The Republican Party has been infiltrated from the left by neo-conservatives. These pesky little critters support big government intervention in both the domestic and foreign policy arenas. They support open borders, globalized currency, free trade to the point of exporting our corporation's interests, the expansion of education bureaucracy such as the No Child Left Behind Act, the socialization of medical care as evidenced by their support of the Medicare prescription drug bill, and promoting democracy in the Mideast through military intervention.

"Ah, ha," the liberals are saying right about now.

Hey, members of the left, shut up, sit down, and listen carefully. We are not in the Mideast for the primary reason of promoting democracy. The neo-cons have convinced the Bush Administration to change their reasons to that, and promoting democracy is not entirely a bad thing, but our main reason for our presence in that region of the world is manyfold that includes protecting Israel, slowing the spread of an ideology that makes Naziism look tame, and to protect our nation from another attack such as the one we suffered on September 11, 2001.

If Bush is guilty of anything, it is listening to these neo-cons too much, and losing touch with the base established by Ronald Reagan.

Now, after the liberal left has convinced the voters that the Bush Administration and the Republican Party is not the party that they thought they have voted for, scandals have erupted. This completed the liberal task at hand. The electorate was convinced that the left was correct. The Republican Party could not be trusted. The Party of Reagan was a memory, infiltrated by neo-cons.

So, do we stay the course? Or do we steer our way back to the time when the Republican Party and the conservative movement were one and the same? We have two years to return to the Party of Reagan.
